About us
OUR MISSION
The Restoration of Historical Glory Foundation aims primarily at restoring, renovating, and rehabilitating historical buildings throughout the country. We focus on three types of restoration, namely:
Restoration, conservation, and reintegration of rural tradition (typical traditional Romanian village buildings). We are constantly searching for traditional village houses, regardless of their location, aiming to keep alive the Romanian tradition from ancient times. We invest all our resources to refurbish these buildings, so that we and our descendants can enjoy our historical heritage to the fullest. For most of the works in this category, we collaborate with the Laboratory of the National Village Museum.
Restoration, consolidation, and preservation of manors and castles in rural or urban areas. These historical gems deserve special attention, being rich in history and life stories. We aim to bring back to life some of these forgotten treasures, many of which were estates, consisting of multiple buildings with exceptional gardens and recreational areas, alongside the spectacular architecture of the central building. We will design and authorize the restoration project for the estate, and execute the related works. Our goal is to open these treasures to the public upon completion of the works, allowing them to enjoy a wonderful slice of history and the pleasure of spending a few hours or days in a truly exceptional environment.
Restoration and consolidation of urban historical buildings. In Bucharest, as well as in other urban centers throughout Romania, there are countless historical buildings in advanced stages of deterioration, many of them with a high seismic risk, posing a danger to pedestrians and nearby vehicles. According to data from the Ministry of Development, there are 2,687 buildings in Romania with seismic risk grades 1 and 2, the majority of which are in Bucharest. We aim to collaborate with the owners of these buildings, offering support to them and to the citizens. We will handle the design and issuance of restoration building permits, as well as the execution of consolidation works and facade restoration. The foundation's main target is historical buildings located in areas of public and touristic interest.
